Designing the Perfect Investor - Not all Money is the same (presentation)

In late June,  I was asked by the Utah Fund of Funds to give a presentation on identifying and approaching the right investors - particularly venture investors.  This is part of their ongoing serious of lectures and discussions to help emerging entrepreneurs rapidly gain the knowledge they need to be successful entrepreneurs!

The FoF team filmed the presentation and has posted it on Zentation (there are also links from the Utah Fund of Fund website, Utahfof.com). Zentation provides a link between the video and my actual powerpoint slides, making it very easy to follow along.  Many people told me they found it helpful - so if you're serious about raising money and would like some tips (as well as "what not to do" hints from someone who's done it - take a look/listen.

You can either visit Zentation's website and see it "full size" by clicking here Designing the Perfect Investor - Not All Money is the Same

Or you can

Thanks for posting this. Your FoF presentation was one that I actually wouldn't mind seeing again. Lots of good personal insight.

Thanks, that is high praise indeed.  I'm glad it was helpful.  Josh James, CEO of Omniture reminded me a couple of years ago that when he started his company, there wasn't anything like this in Utah - no networking, no sharing of experience, nada.  Entrepreneurs were pretty much reinventing the wheel.  It is my hope, and the hope of a lot of other  people like Jeremy Neilson of the Fund of Funds which sponsored that session, that sharing what we've learned will make us all smarter and more successful.
